Is this the new business model for corporations?

Is this the new business model for corporations and executives.
We see this a lot in business these days. Airlines, Nortel, Charter, Sirius, K-mart etc.

It appears to be the number one purpose of going into business these days. Get the business started, build up your employee's hopes , get some money from the government and then close the business, after giving yourself a big bonus package,
